Thumbing through a large new Sportfish catalogue that came two days ago there was a section about various specialist tapered lines used for matching with various lengths of tenkara rod. These appeared to be from 4 metres upwards of a continuous tapering set-up and so I wondered if anyone had looked at these with a view to using them with a "normal" fly line. Some of these are effectively furled woven leaders up to 10 metres long and designed for good turnover and presentation and others are long monofilament leaders.

I've used the Fujino Soft tapered leaders as nymphing leaders on a conventional rod and they work well enough. A bit to bright for dry fly tho.

What had me wondering were the woven tapered leaders both from fine mono and others woven from thread and in lengths from 8ft up to 13ft. There were also plain mono lines out to 10m but coloured and not what I had in mind.
