A post on another forum sent me searching through my harddrive and I came across this. I thought it would be helpful for someone starting out fly tying.

Don't worry, be happy.

Carried it in full, then carry it out empty.

Black-Don

That's a great info post Sandy.

Don't know whether this is allowed but for any new or experienced tyers, could I just put in a wee plug for Gerry at Artifly.

In my opinion, the guy's stuff is second to none and his prices are very good too. I started out again, buying stuff from G.A.C. and there's no way I'm knocking them but Gerry's capes, saddles etc., in the colours he does are fantastic. ( He just needs a wee bump now and again re. deliveries  )

There's no doubt that tying flees with quality feathers makes all the difference. :8)

thank you Black Don re Artifly - never heard of it - just joined the forum and live near Inverness - WFF is becoming a regular visit....all I need is for the snow to go now

just checked out fishtales' suggested site - incredible, I could develop a whole new interest...my own flies - after nearly 50 years of tying now, seem more successful the more ragged arsed they look[brand new] and the less I bother with detail - in fact despite having dozens of patterns and get lots of enjoyment tying up -  I'm regularly using just 2 when fishing.....maybe I need to think again...if I have the capacity
