The 2nd method that starts at about 1:58 appears to make small and very smooth loops

I have always used braided loops with no problems but I do like the look of the second part of the video, might give it a try.

Good link, I've tried the first method on salmon shooting heads, takes a bit practice he made it look easy, his 2nd method is very neat.

The second method is genius!

It looks good, however .............   that's a beefy looking line and I'm not sure how well slicing the coating will work on fine tipped delicate presentation lines like Wildfisher, Snowbee etc. worth a try though and those lines being fine tipped may mean the slicing is unnecessary.
