In my bid to get fit I am going to start cycling to work, or at least half way to start off with. It is an 8 mile round trip (halfway) and I done it last night to time myself.
I am looking for a small daysack that I can fit my lunch, lightweight waterproof jacket and trousers and a chain/padlock etc. I did have a rather nice one that I managed to pick up in a closing down sale, but swmbo decided to leave it up the Lomond Hills in Fife last year
I am not looking for anything expensive/lightweight, just something to do the job and have found this at much cheapness http://www.gelert.com/products/horizon_25l_rucksack
Has anyone tried one of these? Or can you recommend something else around the same price range?

cheers

£5 for that sack is amazing Mike !

Tesco do a range of cheap but good daysacs also the highlander forces range are very tough but reasonably priced and professional pieces of kit http://www.highlander-pro-force.com/search.asp?cid=29822

Sorry, but I can't recommend anything "at the same price range" you asked for, far too expensive!  :)

Quite happy to go much cheaper, in fact the cheaper the better. All I care about is that it is comfortable and doesn't keep slipping off the shoulders whilst cycling. It wont have much in it so a 10ltr might just do the trick.

cheers for the links guys

I have it, use it on my motorbike. Very robust.  I paid a bit more for it when I bought it, that's a good offer.

A wee cycle into Tesco tomorrow then to have a look. How sturdy/stiff are the backs on the Tesco ones? There's nothing worse than feeling the contents digging into your back.

I normally go with highlander forces, for the price can't beat them.

I think they're ok - gave mine to my dad, still haven't got it back

Sticking an old piece of carrymat down the back will work wonders though.
