Looks  like Alex and myself are going to have to put up with one of these New Zealand mouse population explosions this time round and voracious  monster mouse eating trout.

Life?s a bitch.

Anyone know  any good mouse patterns?

When I was learning to tie muddler minnows, all my muddlers were mouse flies!  :D

Ardbeg's suggestion is challenging, but just what we need - a mouse with a hook in it.

On the other hand we could go with what a guy told us about in the bar at Ikamatua. He reckoned he used to glue live baby mice to the hook

This one is popular in Alaska and more importantly even I could tie it... http://www.alaskaflyfishinggoods.com/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product/c89dc0a9c8f406dbf2a7f1d6dfbcf9a0.jpg

Very good idea Steve. Might need a wire trace though....

Get real  Smurf,  that looks far to complicated to tie and the hook is way too offset.  :D
