This is a very good video  by  Davie McPhail. He makes it look easy. I think Ill adapt this for a March Brown

Aye, that's the video I was talking about in the "...tied today..." thread when I asked about turkey biots. I think it looks amazingly close to the natural.

Great vid and a really nice looking wee fly to boot.  The man's a master.

I just tied up a variation on a 12 as March Brown. Dead quick and easy to tie, just floated them in a bowl, they float exactly as I want then to. Similar to a parachute ( a bit lower) but much simpler to knock up. I'll give them a swim this weekend hopefully

I got round to tying  up a few of these size 16, just using olive dubbing for the abdomen and thorax. I found  them effective, rising fish that were refusing parachutes, klinks DHEs etc.

They are hard to see on the water as they sit very low. Adding a small tuft of white CDC in front of the wing helps a lot.
